Wass: "Winning a trophy here has been the best thing that could have happened"
Daniel Wass played some 50 games in his first season at Valencia CF, and also reached some other personal milestones. The Dane made his first appearance in the Champions League and won his first trophy in Spanish football, as the club won the Copa del Rey.
In preseason for his sophomore campaign, he spoke to VCF Media Radio on Tuesday to look ahead to 2019/20.

"We're working very hard to start the season better than we did last year. That's the key," he explained. "Every game is difficult, but we can start better in LaLiga, as well as fighting to qualify for the Champions League again."
"Valencia CF are a strong side, and we have to be as strong as possible to win the maximum amount of games. The fans want to see a hungry side again this season, and we are very excited about things," he continued.
"Winning a trophy was a big objective for me. Winning one here has been the best thing that could have happened."
Asked about the signings made by the club in the summer, Wass talked about one that he knows well: Former Celta Vigo teammate Maxi Gómez.
"I know him well. He's a really good person. I played with him for a year, and he's going to score a lot of goals here. He's a great player, physically strong and scores goals. He's a very dangerous footballer, and I was happy for the team and for him when his arrival was announced."
"I'm here to help the team as much as possible. I've also got back into the Danish national team. I hadn't played for them in 2-5 years, and coming back was really good. I'm very happy to play for my country."
